Former President Barack Obama reportedly had some divisive things to say behind President Donald Trump’s back during the 2016 election. People Magazine spoke to sources who claimed to have inside information on Obama’s disdain for Trump.
“He’s nothing but a bulls**tter,” Obama reportedly told two friends during an election night phone call with Trump. Obama’s jab was allegedly over Trump’s profession that then-President Obama held Trump’s “respect” and “admiration” after years of heckling him and his policies on social media.
The unnamed sources who claim to be close friends of the Obamas say that relations haven’t improved much between the former and current presidents since the 2016 election.
“Well,” the sources said, “it hasn’t gotten any better.”
Another source interviewed by the magazine said that Obama is worried about the current state of American affairs, but despite his perception of grim times, the former president is purportedly “optimistic.”
“He’s deeply concerned with what he’s seen,” the source said. “But he’s also optimistic and heartened that citizens aren’t just watching it happen but engaging with neighbors and elected representatives at town halls.”
